The Vigo County Sheriff's Office identified Mark Oberle (67, Terre Haute) as the driver killed when his white pickup truck was hit by a silver pickup truck at the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Allendale Lane in southern Vigo County on Tuesday afternoon, and the other driver was taken to a local hospital.

The Indiana Department of Education released spring 2025 ILEARN results showing 40.6% of students met English Language Arts standards and about 42% met math standards from over 1,350 schools in the Wabash Valley.

Residents along Maplewood Avenue and Crestwood Avenue in Krislynn Woods Subdivision remain under a boil order after a water main break was repaired — township officials said the order will stay in effect until further notice.

The Vigo County Health Department released food inspection reports covering weeks from March 17 to July 12, with the latest report updated Jul 15—one report noted over 60 health code violations in 9 restaurants.

These inspections examined restaurants and food stores to help ensure safe dining options locally.
