CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Three individuals — 58-year-old Michael Miller, 48-year-old Kelley Garner and 35-year-old Savana Frost — were arrested in Shelburn after officers executing a warrant found over 80 grams of bath salts, drug paraphernalia and sale items as residents tried to flush the substance down a drain. WTWO
- ➤ Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office deputies uncovered a synthetic meth operation in Shelburn when they executed a search warrant on Thursday at a home on South Jackson Street and arrested Michael Shawn Miller, Kelley Garner and Savana Frost while seizing over 80 grams of suspected bath salts—drug paraphernalia was also found. - ➤ On Friday evening, Goodwill Excel Center held its first graduation ceremony with 15 high school diploma recipients (including working adults, parents, and students). Several graduates earned dual college credits, industry certifications and secured job offers. WTWO

- ➤ The 2025 Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal Program sponsored by the Office of the Indiana State Chemist will run on August 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Keystone Cooperative, 2500 S. 13th St — residents in Terre Haute can drop off pesticides safely as part of this state initiative. Tribune-Star

- ➤ Vigo County was selected to join a pilot program by the Indiana Commission on Court Appointed Attorneys that will offer support services for individuals charged with misdemeanor cases—counties may be reimbursed for 40% of defense services in superior or circuit courts. Tribune-Star
- ➤ The Vigo County Area Plan Commission will consider a rezoning request on South Carlisle Street for a proposed Dunkin' Donuts and strip mall—this request would shift three lots from R-1 single family residential to C-3 regional commercial south of the Speedway. Tribune-Star
