CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A death investigation was underway at the Federal Correctional Institution in Terre Haute after Javen Pedro, 22, was found unresponsive at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday — officials are looking into the cause. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Police said three people were injured in a shooting at a large Terre Haute party on Sunday in the 3100 block of School Avenue—one person was found at the scene while two were later sent to hospitals, with two of the injured taken to an Indianapolis hospital. WTHI-TV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Wabash Valley Regional Development Authority is hosting two public forums to collect local input on the Wabash River Regional Arts & Culture Plan—one meeting is today and the other is on June 5. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Dustin Lynch will perform at The Mill on Aug. 8 as part of The Hoosier Lottery Concert Series—tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at TheMillTerreHaute.com. Tribune-Star
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Indiana State University will hold a public hearing on student tuition & mandatory fees on June 12 at 1 p.m. in the Stateroom at Tirey Hall to review rates for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years, with no tuition increase planned for full-time Indiana resident undergraduates or graduates. - ➤ The Indiana Department of Transportation announced a temporary closure on U.S. 150 near Marion Heights due to concrete repairs under the railroad bridge that began on Monday. Crews expect the work to last a few weeks subject to weather changes, and drivers must follow a detour using U.S. 150 — Pennington Road — Indiana 63 — U.S. 40 — U.S. 150. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Vigo County judges appointed Charles Ray as the new magistrate—Judge Charles Johnson announced the decision Monday and said Ray will soon begin serving in the role. Tribune-Star
