- ➤ Students and residents are invited to join Terre Haute’s Polar Plunge at Indiana State University this Saturday—registration starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Student Recreation Center and a noon plunge will raise funds for athletes with intellectual disabilities. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Collett Park and Spencer F. Ball Park are temporarily closed while crews install new playground equipment. Spencer F. Ball Park’s upgrades are set to finish by the end of February — Collett Park’s by the end of March as the city prepares for spring. WTHI-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College broke its fundraising record on Woods Giving Day by raising over $1.8M, with $1.6M collected before the event began. The funds will support college projects moving forward. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Indiana State University's Community School of the Arts earned national accreditation from the American Camp Association, recognizing its safe and high-quality youth programs including Camp Sycamore. The recognition bolsters local educational opportunities in the Wabash Valley. Tribune-Star
- ➤ The SW Parke board voted 5-0 Tuesday night to close Montezuma Elementary as a cost-saving measure, and the school will shut at the end of the 2025-26 academic year. Tribune-Star
