- ➤ The Chamber of Commerce introduced the Crow Laser (a tool designed to disrupt crow roosting patterns) in October to reduce bird droppings in downtown; local businesses and ISU officials note cleaner sidewalks and plan to survey feedback soon. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Mark Bennett recalled how his youngest grandchild participated in a school Christmas concert and both needed to stretch their legs after a similar program a few days earlier. Tribune-Star
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Wabash River Regional Development Authority released the Wabash River Regional Arts and Culture Plan to strengthen local arts organizations, boost economic vitality, and enhance quality of place in Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo counties with help from Designing Local through a grant. - ➤ St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Terre Haute has begun a $175K restoration of its 12 historic stained glass windows, which last saw major maintenance in 2000. The project aims to preserve the church's heritage (as noted by Father Bob Showers) and requires rare specialist skills. WTHI-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting Sunday, drivers on Interstate 70 near Terre Haute face rolling lane closures between mile markers 12-23 that are expected to cause delays in both directions, according to Indiana State Police. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Detective Greg Ferency (30-year veteran) died in the line of duty in 2021 and will be posthumously honored with an induction into the National Law Enforcement Hall of Fame along with the Courage in Service Award at an April 2026 ceremony, as announced by the police department. WTHI-TV
