- ➤ Due to additional incoming items, the First Hungarian Working Men’s Benefit and Death Society will extend its Christmas rummage sale to Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15 at Hungarian Hall (2049 North 22nd Street, one block south of Maple) as doors open at 8 a.m. and close at noon on both days. - ➤ Artist Bill Wolfe unveiled his sculpture of World War II correspondent Ernie Pyle Tuesday morning at the Ernie Pyle World War II Museum in Dana — he said it was one of his proudest moments — as local residents gathered to view the exhibit. Tribune-Star

- ➤ Some Terre Haute North Vigo High School students formed VCSC Students 4 Change to advocate for an oversight board—one that would examine how county government might help fund school facilities—as they address concerns about their school's future. Tribune-Star
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ TREES Inc. partners with RiverSCAPE and Vigo County Parks and Recreation to lead a community tree planting on Nov. 15 at Bicentennial Park and along the U.S. 40 corridor — they will recruit 100 volunteers to plant 74 native trees while an additional 40 trees will be planted in early December near Misco. - ➤ On Tuesday, the Duke Energy Foundation awarded nearly $50,000 in grants to 10 Indiana organizations that support veterans and military families in honor of Veterans Day. The funding will back transitional housing and mental health services — vital resources for Hoosier veterans. Tribune-Star
