  • Duke Energy and the city of Terre Haute are offering free in-home energy assessments, and on Tuesday a specialist visited the century-old home of Eve Friedman-Dekro and Brennen Neeb—aiming to help them lower their energy bills.  Tribune-Star
  • Hamilton Center Inc. presented its annual Hamilton Awards on Tuesday evening at the Sycamore Banquet Center on the Indiana State University campus in Terre Haute—winners were recognized for excellence.  Tribune-Star
  • Riverscape is asking community members and photographers to take pictures of the fall colors in its new photo contest. The contest will show the beauty of the Wabash River—highlighting the change along the riverfront as autumn settles in.  Tribune-Star
  • Yesterday, Moose Lodge administrator Cathy Davis, member Dena Samm, and chaplain Carol Mowbray presented 23 Tommy Moose plush toys to Fire Department Public Information Officer Nick Arnold—donation intended to comfort children who face stressful situations during interactions with firefighters.  Tribune-Star

  • Today, Terre Haute was honored by Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (AIM) with the Program Innovation Award for its Fare-Free Transit initiative.  Tribune-Star
  • Veterans and active-duty military, along with everyone in their vehicle, get free entry to DNR parks, reservoirs, state forests and off-road areas on Veterans Day, Nov. 11—Indiana State Parks director Brandt Baughman said the day honors their service and sacrifice.  Tribune-Star
