EDUCATION NEWS

  • During a June meeting, the Vigo County School Board voted to move forward with a sweeping facility consolidation plan that calls for consolidating Terre Haute North and South high schools into one new high school—while West Vigo High School will be modernized as a smaller institution—and reorganizing four middle schools and 10 elementary schools. The plan will reshape the district’s school system in the coming years.  Tribune-Star

  • Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun says that showing the city's progress can lead to more improvements in quality of life—housing and workforce opportunities. He is planning ways to highlight current successes and encourage further steps forward.  Tribune-Star
