- ➤ The THSO will perform a special concert called Divine Interludes at 4 p.m. Oct.5 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods & it will feature the orchestra's principal strings and woodwinds for an afternoon of chamber music. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Monday night the Nashville trio — led by Terre Haute native Emily Clapp — chose Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan as their coach on NBC’s singing competition show The Voice during its season premiere. Tribune-Star
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Terre Haute unveiled its redesigned website during a press conference with Mayor Brandon Sakbun and city officials; the new site, developed over a year, will boost accessibility and digital services for residents, businesses and visitors—making it easier to use key city resources. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Gov. Mike Braun has expanded his cabinet by letting Katie Jenner, who runs K-12, also lead higher education and by naming Anthony Scott as public safety secretary while he stays as State Police Superintendent—both will keep one salary—after a state review found no conflict in Indiana law. - ➤ Gov. Mike Braun expanded cabinet roles by giving two top officials extra leadership duties which revived a constitutional question about one person holding two government offices. Indiana Secretary of Education Katie Jenner was confirmed as the new higher education commissioner — she kept her K-12 role. Tribune-Star

- ➤ The Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Terre Haute will be held on Saturday, September 27 at 9 a.m. at Memorial Stadium to raise funds for education, support, and research for Alzheimer’s disease—an event that has grown significantly in recent years. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Orthopedist Dr. Jorge Sucar is joining the sports medicine team at Union Medical Group Bone & Joint Center in Terre Haute—his role is set to strengthen patient care in sports medicine. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Vigo County Health Department inspected restaurants from September 15 to 21 and found several safety issues such as live and dead cockroaches, improper food storage, and debris in kitchens—while some establishments met compliance and received approval to open or operate on future dates. WTHI-TV
