- ➤ Today, the U.S. Department of Energy released $77,217,590 to help ENTEK Lithium Separators LLC build a new lithium-ion battery separator facility in Terre Haute. The project will create about 763 construction jobs and 635 operational jobs—boosting local manufacturing. WTHI-TV
- ➤ The Terre Haute Chamber and mayor’s office welcomed Amazon Hub Delivery—an initiative that lets local businesses earn extra income by delivering packages. A company representative said recruitment for delivery positions is underway. WTHI-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sullivan Lake is starting its second phase of a multi-year dredging project as sediment basins are built with a $7,500 grant and initial funding. The work will continue in phases to remove sediment buildup and improve the lake's ecosystem. WTHI-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The city of Terre Haute approved a bid from Indiana Rail Road for property at 13th Street and Hulman Avenue Wednesday afternoon — the Terre Haute Redevelopment Department said the project is projected to create between 25 and 50 new jobs. Tribune-Star
LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ Terre Haute will host the first annual Wabash Valley Pepper Fest and Hot Sauce Expo on Sunday, September 28th at Meadows Shopping Center from 10am to 6pm. The event will feature pepper eating contests, hot sauce making contests, and a visit from the UK Chili Queen — with proceeds benefiting Council on Domestic Abuse. WTHI-TV
