On Wednesday, the Vigo County Capitol Improvement Board heard Adam Meyer's proposal for a new Terre Haute athletic district that would cover 100 acres and include baseball/softball fields, a football field, an indoor sports complex (96,000 sqft), a hotel, and retail and apartment space, but they said it was too early to ask for funding.

Great Dane announced that its central fabrication facility on its Terre Haute campus marked two years with no recordable safety incidents on Thursday.
The facility produces upper couplers for trailers and stands as a milestone in the company’s commitment to safe operations.

Indiana State University celebrated the dedication of its new Thompson Thrift Department of Construction Management (at the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology) on Wednesday.
The ceremony gathered university leaders, staff, and industry partners to honor its partnership with Thompson Thrift for training future construction professionals.

Standard and Poor lowered Vigo County’s credit rating from AA minus to A plus on Wednesday.
The downgrade shows the county now has a strong capacity to meet financial commitments but is slightly more at risk from economic changes.
