CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A domestic dispute in Shelburn led to an arrest on Wednesday — Conner Fields was charged with attempted murder after a victim was shot multiple times and airlifted to Indianapolis for emergency care. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Police responded to gunshots on the 1700 block of Oak Street in Thompson Park on Wednesday—officers provided medical aid until the Fire Department arrived to transport the victim to a local hospital as detectives investigate the shooting and report no active threat. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Rockville police arrested 37-year-old Kyle M. Hancock from Spencer on Wednesday after finding him slumped over the wheel of his car on US Highway 41—drug paraphernalia and suspected synthetic drugs were discovered in his car and he is now held in Parke County Jail. WTHI-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Divers are training at the Vigo County Aquatic Center as part of a six-week program run by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to prepare for water rescues after an average of 78 drownings per year — the training covers emergency procedures, equipment handling, and prepares them for final certification in Indianapolis. - ➤ More than 400 soldiers from the 38th Infantry Division of the Hoosier National Guard returned home from a yearlong mission in the Middle East to support Operation Spartan Shield, arriving at Indianapolis International Airport + they were welcomed by family and friends. Maj. Gen. Dan Degelow praised their hard work during the deployment from October to July, which included 15 training exercises to strengthen defense partnerships. WTHI-TV
