  • Terre Haute businessman and philanthropist Greg Gibson was honored Friday evening as one of the 2025 Indiana Living Legends at a gala held at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center—he said his parents taught him the value of giving back.  Tribune-Star
  • Jonathan Eilbracht, a Terre Haute native and director of Strategic Programming for the West Central Indiana Partnership, was named one of the Wabash Valley’s 12 Under 40 Award recipients for his leadership and commitment to regional growth. A 2014 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School who once played on a state championship baseball team, he is recognized for his deep roots & focus on community development.  Tribune-Star
  • Caleb Fleschner, 34, a Terre Haute attorney, has been named as one of the 12 Under 40 award recipients for his skill and steady dedication to clients—he draws on his personal experience with cerebral palsy to guide his work in personal injury law with his family firm.  Tribune-Star
  • Kara Lovell, a local art teacher and community advocate, was named among the '12 Under 40' honorees—she uses her free time to organize events that bring people together.  Tribune-Star
  • Justin Kunz, a long-time Terre Haute resident originally from Lebanon, was named a 12 Under 40 recipient. He earned a degree in Construction Management from Indiana State University, coached cross country and track + coached at St. Patrick School before starting a family with his wife Kim and children, Lainey (10) and Ezra (8).  Tribune-Star

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Kierra Jones was nominated for the 12 Under 40 honor and described in letters as a vibrant businesswoman—an educator, photographer and coach who helps many people. Supporters call her a true role model because of her generous and inclusive work.  Tribune-Star

CULTURE NEWS

  • Forrest Lowery, a 29-year-old attorney at First Financial Bank and community volunteer, works to secure Terre Haute's cultural vitality and growth. Born and raised on the east side, he is a fourth-generation family member at the bank who continues his family's legacy.  Tribune-Star

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rebecca Bercich turned challenges into opportunities after finishing high school in 2006 and now serves as board president at reTHink, Inc.—which recycles plastic waste—and as an associate professor of mechanical engineering at Rose-Hulman, bridging the organization with the college.  Tribune-Star
  • Local teacher Brett Taylor uses his role at Terre Haute North Vigo High School to shape the city and support its students — born and raised in Terre Haute, he remains committed to local growth. His wife Amber, assistant director at McCarthy Early Childhood Education Center, and their children Lily and Max inspire his work every day.  Tribune-Star

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Anne-Therese Ryan is a rising figure in local government as the executive director of the Human Relations Coalition and ADA coordinator who helped eliminate city bus fares this year to aid residents without transportation. Bus ridership doubled after the fare removal and her team is planning to add shelters and ensure bus stops are ADA—compliant.  Tribune-Star
