CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A juvenile died after an apparent drowning when police responded at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday on the city's north side—according to the Terre Haute Police Department. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Jimm Shane Nidlinger, 54, of Terre Haute was arrested Thursday at 8:00 p.m. after a boating incident at Paint Mill Lake in southern Vigo County that resulted in one death—he faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and with a high alcohol concentration. Tribune-Star
- ➤ In southern Vigo County, authorities arrested Jimm Nidlinger Jr. in connection with a drowning death at Paint Mill Lake after his blood test revealed a 0.171 level while he was boating with a companion — he was released on his own recognizance and his next court appearance is set for Wednesday as divers continue searching for the unidentified victim. - ➤ Downtown Terre Haute is changing as the Max Ehrmann sculpture and plaza move to a new site—half-block south on Seventh Street—to make way for a new hotel complex. The Blues at the Crossroads festival ended in 2022 after a 20-year run, marking a shift in local traditions. Tribune-Star
