🎓 Education
Terre Haute North Vigo High School celebrated the first day of classes Tuesday with an all-school pep rally where the marching band, cheerleaders, and Patriettes dance team led students into the gym (class of 2027 seniors joined the parade).
Vigo County School Corp. reported 88.8% of third graders passed the IREAD, up from 84.6% last year and 80.3% in 2024, a jump of 8.5 percentage points.
The improvement shows steady progress in the district's reading scores.
🏛️ Government
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration will request a five-year waiver from Medicare and Medicaid to update the Healthy Indiana Plan through HIP 3.0, which may soon require able-bodied adults to pay copays.
The revised cost-sharing model could affect many participants across the state.
