The Terre Haute Humane Society closed its doors on Tuesday and remains closed today in response to the death of several dogs.
🎓 Education
Vigo County visitors toured four northwest Indiana schools Monday to see facility upgrades that help students succeed.
At Valparaiso High a converted pool now serves as a weight room (other schools also improved athletic areas) during the tour hosted by the Vigo County School Corp.
The Vigo County Public Library summer reading program ended with 2,351,000 minutes read, nearly reaching its goal of 3 million minutes by July 31.
Community members participated actively in the initiative throughout the summer.
🏥 Health
Nursing and microbiology professors from Indiana University Kokomo offered tick bite prevention tips in Terre Haute (they noted that cases nearly doubled recently) and advised residents on ways to protect themselves this summer.
