  • The Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club held its second annual Blue Carpet Awards ceremony to honor 247 students for their hard work & positive attitudes during summer programs that included 32 field trips.   • Firefighters battled a blaze at ThyssenKrupp in Vigo County Industrial Park Friday morning—no injuries were reported and the cause remains unknown.  WTWO

  • Hatfield Hall at Rose-Hulman is launching the 2025–26 Performing Arts Series with music legends, comedy favorites, ballet, dance, and urban circus acts — tickets are now available for the season.  Tribune-Star

  • Yesterday, a national study ranked Indiana’s early education system 42nd and rated its accessibility second-to-last — fueling worries among local experts. HEALTH NEWS

  • The Greene County Health Department is hosting its annual Back-to-School Health Fair at the Greene County Community Events Center at the 4-H Fairgrounds on August 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—the free event offers key health screenings, immunizations, school supplies, and gift cards to help local families prepare for the new school year.  WTWO
