ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Indiana State Police advised drivers to use caution on I-70 eastbound near the Brazil exit after a semi caught fire Thursday morning—emergency crews cleaned up the scene. WTWO
- ➤ Police and fire department crews responded to a possible drowning call on Thursday at around 9:30 a.m.—first responders found an unresponsive woman in a pool who was later pronounced dead, and detectives are investigating with no sign of foul play. WTHI-TV

- ➤ Terre Haute’s east side is set to see new businesses along State Road 46 as a $664,000 city grant backs the effort and Chipotle is scheduled to open Tuesday. City engineer Marcus Maurer said expanding Hunt Rd.—and College Ave could open nearly 1,000 acres for warehousing and airport-related industry to boost local jobs. WTWO

- ➤ Local educators and officials gathered at the Hulman Center Thursday for the Innovate Indiana Series where Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner said literacy rates have risen after a $170 million investment in reading programs. Indiana State University President Mike Godard announced that the university partnered with Thompson Thrift to create a new construction management department offering paid internships and scholarships—urging local businesses to support education.
