- ➤ At the Pathways Center Summer Bash in Terre Haute, people lined up for free haircuts and donated food while volunteers provided outreach to help those facing homelessness. Marcus Davis, who has been homeless for nearly seven months and is looking for a job, said the free haircut lifted his spirits as organizers worked on a week-long survey of local needs. WTWO

- ➤ Chipotle’s first Terre Haute restaurant is set to open on August 5 at 2499 South State Road 46 in front of the Eastside Walmart with hours from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.—featuring a drive-thru pick-up lane for digital orders. The chain will also offer about 30 jobs and run a Summer of Extra promotion that gives rewards members a chance to win free Chipotle—adding benefits like a crew bonus, college support, ESL classes and mental healthcare. - ➤ Sullivan County deputies conducted a search warrant at a home in Hymera and arrested three individuals (58-year-old Kenneth Scales, who was on probation; 42-year-old Carly Wheatly; 52-year-old Jonah Cooley) after officers found methamphetamine, paraphernalia, marijuana, digital scales, bags and other drug items and charged them with drug-related offenses. - ➤ Vigo County prosecutor Terry Modesitt warned local businesses on July 1, 2024, that selling THC-derived products could lead to felony charges and said many have complied, though monitoring is hard due to mislabeling and rules in nearby Illinois—legislators are now working on new testing and packaging rules that the Senate will soon review.
