- ➤ Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology reported a record year of philanthropy backed by strong donor support. This fall, students will explore a new physics lab where they can watch atoms dance on screens — a project made possible by the funding. Tribune-Star
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mayor Brandon Sakbun announced Monday that the city received two grants from Indiana DEM for its DieselWise Indiana Emission Reduction Program, which will add three new electric vehicles and replace two old diesel vehicles without using local tax funds. The Terre Haute Regional Airport also received $166,500 to replace two outdated diesel engines that mow the airfield, helping lower costs and reduce harmful emissions. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Mayor Brandon Sakbun announced Monday that Terre Haute received grants of $123,000 and $66,885 from IDEM for the DieselWise Indiana Emission Reduction Program, with the City Engineering Department adding new electric vehicles and plans to replace two older diesel vehicles in the Street and Cemetery Departments. Terre Haute Regional Airport was also awarded $166,500 to replace polluting diesel engines—supporting smoother operations and reduced fuel costs. Tribune-Star

- ➤ Remote Area Medical will hold a free pop-up dental, vision and medical clinic at Terre Haute South High School on August 2-3 to serve uninsured and underinsured residents in partnership with the Richard G.
