- ➤ Connect IN West Central Indiana invites new and returning residents to join its fall cohort program starting in September with a $500 fee and a 12-week schedule. Registration is due by August 1 (participants will engage in civic activities, meet local politicians and business leaders, and attend professional development sessions). WTWO
- ➤ Catholic Charities Foodbank in Terre Haute participated in the national 'Chip In and Chip Away' at hunger campaign on Thursday—aiming to reduce food insecurity as nearly 43,000 local residents, including children, struggled with access to food. Jessica Murphy, the Development Manager, noted that the campaign encouraged community donors to help chip away at this growing need. WTWO
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A multi-vehicle crash on Thursday night at Fruitridge and Margaret Avenues in Terre Haute closed part of Fruitridge while officials said at least one person was injured (there is no word on how long the road will be closed). WTWO
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ James Ready pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the stabbing of Vito Bugni in March 2024 and was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison—with requirements for mental health treatment and probation rules that bar him from having a firearm. WTWO
- ➤ A shooting in the Kroger South parking lot at 4714 South U.S. Hwy 41 on Thursday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. resulted in the death of a woman and left a man in critical condition—Vigo County Sheriff Derek Fell reported when deputies found both victims in a vehicle. Tribune-Star

- ➤ Junior Achievement in Wabash Valley will host free Family Financial Literacy Workshops at the Learning Lab in Terre Haute from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. nightly from July 14th through 18th to help kids and adults learn about budgeting, savings, taxes and investing with childcare available. WTWO
