- ➤ At Griffin Bike Park early Saturday morning, 142 racers ran in Catholic Charities’ Quick Quack Trail Run which raised funds for programs like Bethany House Emergency Shelter & Ryves Youth Center. Catholic Charities will hold its annual Rubber Duck Regatta on July 4th. WTWO
- ➤ McAlister’s Deli will host its 17th annual Free Tea Day on July 17, offering a complimentary Big Tea that includes sweet tea, unsweet tea, half and half, tea/lemonade, and flavored teas with one free flavor shot for in-store orders and up to four online. The deli gave away 200,000 teas last year + will feature Peach Mango Tea as part of its offer at 49 locations across Indiana and abroad. WTWO
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A crash between a 2016 Prius and a 2005 Prius at the intersection of US 41 and State Road 246 injured five people on Wednesday afternoon and all were taken to Union Hospital, with three suffering minor injuries and two needing extra care. WTHI-TV

- ➤ Gov. Mike Braun announced on Tuesday that Indiana’s public colleges will keep in-state tuition flat for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years+ the freeze covers 15 schools and will maintain current tuition and fees to help keep college affordable. WTWO
- ➤ Rising eighth graders in Vigo County took part in Tech Quest, a new program at Ivy Tech where about 100 students spent a week exploring careers like mechanics, trades, nursing, and cybersecurity — officials plan to expand the program next year so more students can explore these high-demand fields. - ➤ Vigo County schools, Southwest Park schools and Indiana State University are set to receive teacher residency grants from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education — a measure that will help expand teacher training in the region. Tribune-Star

- ➤ The Indiana Chamber’s Wellness Council of Indiana is releasing a revamped Quit Now Tool — a free, web-based platform with updated features like printable certificates and easier employer access to track progress to help Hoosiers quit tobacco as a new tax will raise prices by $2 per pack starting July 1. Nearly 40,000 Hoosiers are expected to stop using tobacco when cigarette packs cost about $11 each. WTWO
