🎭 Culture
Saturday's art festival on Sixth Street showcased paintings, ceramics, sculptures, live music and demonstrations that brought local artists and community members together.
Downtown Terre Haute enjoyed a colorful display of creativity—plans for next year's event are underway.
In March 2025, Lewis Cass High School produced Grease and directors Abby Guy and Joyce Bowers said they had to buy extra rights for songs like Hopelessly Devoted to You—some songs were not included in the original license.
🎓 Education
On Saturday, the Vigo County School Corporation held a second listening session at the convention center for community members to share feedback on the recent facility study — school leaders said the input will guide board decisions and may lead to more sessions in the future.
🏛️ Government
Gov. Mike Braun warned at the Indianapolis Investment Forum that Indiana’s rapid phase-out of coal-fired power plants left the state with insufficient electricity for a growing manufacturing base.
He said the state will explore alternative energy sources including small modular reactors — a plan that has troubled environmental advocates.
