- ➤ The town of Rosedale is hosting its annual Strawberry Festival today through Sunday, offering live music + food and shows. A parade is set for Saturday at 3 p.m. + a Queen and Princess Pageant will begin at 6:45 p.m. WTHI-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A police pursuit in Cory ended Wednesday when troopers removed 35-year-old Aaron Krout from his vehicle after a chase — he later died at a hospital in Terre Haute. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Indiana State Police began a death investigation at Sullivan County Jail after a body was found Thursday morning, June 5 — an autopsy is set for Saturday as the individual's identity remains unknown. WTWO
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At the Terre Haute City Council meeting on Thursday night, council members discussed an ordinance to rezone a section of Ohio Boulevard near Deming Park for 176 apartment units — the City Hall gallery stayed packed even with fewer attendees than last month. Tribune-Star
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Thrive West Central partnered with the city to host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday at South Fruitridge and Hulman Street to celebrate the opening of Bear Creek, a 42-unit townhome community on the east side (part of the Homes for the Future Program). Tribune-Star
- ➤ Thrive West Central announced Thursday that it will offer new home buyers up to 5% in down payment assistance and affordable mortgage options through its Hoosier Homes program. Local officials said the initiative—made possible through a partnership with Club 720—aims to increase home ownership and grow the local population. WTWO
