- ➤ The 2025 Southern Indiana Vintage Camper Rally will take place at Fowler Park from June 12 to 15 and marks its 15th year of celebrating vintage camping culture. An open house on June 14 from 10 a.m. to noon will feature 50 vintage campers—inviting local enthusiasts to experience camping history firsthand. WTHI-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Indiana State University will offer a new Bachelor of Science in Forensics program this fall—giving Terre Haute students a fresh study option—and will share more details about the curriculum soon. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Camp Navigate's summer camp began Tuesday at Terre Haute First Baptist Church and will run for ten weeks. Executive Director Eleanor Ramsesier said the camp now enrolls 280 campers compared to 50 in its first year—more spots remain available. Tribune-Star
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Transportation poured the State Road 246 bridge deck and will replace its barrier rail later this week, weather permitting, with work expected to be completed this summer + officials confirmed that adjustments may occur if conditions change. WTWO
- ➤ The Terre Haute Fire Department is providing summer safety tips—warning residents to drink 64 ounces of water daily and advising children under eight to have an eight‑ounce drink per year of age—and to follow burn ordinances to ensure safe bonfires, cookouts, and pool days. - ➤ Today at 3:00 p.m., Thrive West Central holds a ribbon-cutting ceremony at South Fruitridge Avenue and Hulman Street to launch Bear Creek Townhouses, the new addition to the Homes for the Future Program that offers townhomes in the mid $300k range. The development adds 42 maintenance-free townhomes with about 1,991 square feet of space, three bedrooms, a two-car garage, and a dog park — funded by American Rescue Plan dollars and led by local developer Jon Mutchner.
