- ➤ Two Memorial Day ceremonies were held Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery and Highland Lawn Cemetery and were organized by veterans groups. The Highland Lawn event included a speech by Mayor Brandon Sakbun + a wreath presentation by the veterans. Tribune-Star
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Vigo County Purdue Extension educator Tabby Flinn told gardeners to check their ornamental plants for invasive growth because non-native species can overgrow and block sunlight. Residents are advised to review Indiana’s invasive species list and report rapid plant spread to local invasives groups. WTWO
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Officers from across the state will join athletes in a Law Enforcement Torch Run on May 30 in Terre Haute where a three-mile run will start at noon from the Hulman Center to carry the Flame of Hope and ignite the cauldron for the 2025 Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games — competitions will take place from June 6 to June 8 and volunteers can register to help run events like bowling, bocce, swimming, and volleyball. On Saturday, June 14, we’re taking to the streets nationwide to tell the administration that America has no kings. We will also be holding a Food Drive for Brown Baggers School Food Program of Sullivan County.
