- ➤ This week, EMS Week honors Terre Haute paramedics as News 10's Ben Verbanic went behind the scenes with Fire Department paramedics Landry Moore and Josh Monroe to show how they save lives during emergency calls; the teams make over 4,000 runs a year plus respond to heart attacks, overdoses, and car accidents. - ➤ The Banks of the Wabash Festival kicked off on Thursday night, May 22, at 6 p.m. at Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute and will run until May 31 offering carnival rides, food & craft vendors, and live entertainment for all ages. WTHI-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Indiana State University’s Scott College of Business received an extension of its AACSB accreditation on Thursday, confirming the quality of its business program and the hard work of its faculty, staff, and partners. The college first earned the accreditation in 1980 and has supported over 1,200 students in completing their business degrees. WTWO
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Clay County government and regional partners unveiled their community plan on May 22 to serve as a bold and collaborative roadmap toward a thriving, sustainable future. The plan was developed through extensive community engagement and input from regional stakeholders. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Following recent storms, the Vigo County Health Department is offering a free tire drop-off for Greene County residents to dispose of up to 10 tires from May 22 to June 10 at 1241 Seventh Avenue in Terre Haute. Residents must bring proof of residency and call (812) 234-9181 to schedule an appointment for drop-off on Tuesday, May 27 after Memorial Day. WTHI-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Union Health dedicated new playground equipment on May 22nd at its Union Hospital Child Development Center at 1729 N. Sixth St.—the project was funded by donations from the Service League of Union Hospital, Inc. and Union Health Foundation, and the center is now open for public enrollment. Tribune-Star
