  • Seven Brew is opening two coffee shops in Terre Haute. The chain has built a location at the former Rally’s off South U.S. 41 in front of Burlington clothing store+ it will build another shop near East Margaret Avenue on Indiana 46's growing corridor.  Tribune-Star

CRIME NEWS

  • Terre Haute police are investigating the death of 93-year-old Betty Ellinger, who was injured at Signature HealthCARE on April 21 and died on April 29 at a hospice center—her preliminary cause and manner of death remain pending—while authorities gather additional details.  Tribune-Star

CULTURE NEWS

  • Indiana State University's Charles E. Brown African American Cultural Center will soon drop 'African American' from its name—local historian Crystal Reynolds said it will be renamed the Charles E. Brown Cultural Center.  Tribune-Star

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cynthia Thomas Kalkomey joined the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology board of trustees at its winter meeting to support STEM education — her lifelong dedication to science and technology guided the decision. She will help shape future policies at the Institute.  Tribune-Star

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Indiana State University transferred 111 properties to the city for potential student housing since the university no longer needs them—city officials plan to clean the sites within the next two months and local builders have already shown interest in starting construction within six months.  WTHI-TV
