- ➤ Team of Mercy held its 12th annual Surviving the Color walk/run on Saturday along Ohio Boulevard near Brown Avenue—continuing into Deming Park with 1,200 participants supporting services for those left behind after an attempted or completed suicide. This event raised local support and awareness for suicide assistance programs. Tribune-Star
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A biotechnology company revived a dire wolf that died out 10,000 years ago—spurring debate over whether to bring the species back to the wild in Indiana. Local scientists plan to study how the return of these wolves might affect local ecosystems and conservation efforts. Tribune-Star

- ➤ Indiana State Police are increasing seat belt checks from May 17 to May 31 to remind drivers to buckle up as part of the national 'Click It or Ticket' campaign—officials say the move aims to cut injuries and fatalities during the busy summer travel season. WTHI-TV
- ➤ The governor’s office announced that a Washington D.C. firm began a one-year forensic review of IEDC on May 13 for up to $800,000 after self-dealing allegations emerged. On Saturday, June 14, we’re taking to the streets nationwide to tell the administration that America has no kings. We will also be holding a Food Drive for Brown Baggers School Food Program of Sullivan County.
