- ➤ The Patrick S. Barrett Endowment Fund will host the second annual Shamrock Shootout Golf tournament on June 13 at 10 a.m. at Idle Creek Golf Course to raise funds for childhood cancer research for Riley Children’s Hospital—early bird teams of four can register until May 31 for $300—while later entries will cost $400. - ➤ Red Cross volunteers and local partners—including the Terre Haute Fire Department and Wabash Valley Neighbors Helping Neighbors—will install free smoke alarms for local families in the Washington community on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Otter Creek Middle School teacher Olivia Goulding has honored fallen soldiers with flag placements at Memorial Stadium since 2009 and is seeking volunteers to help place 7,000 flags on May 20—volunteers of any age should also assist on May 27 to help set up giant panels listing the names of the lost. - ➤ RJL Solutions was named the 11th fastest-growing privately held company in Indiana by the Indianapolis Business Journal on May 14th. Founded in Terre Haute in 2017, the firm now operates an office in Indianapolis and will open an Evansville location this summer — showing its expanding role with public and private partners. - ➤ Kathleen Langone, who wrote a biography about famed native artist Amalia Kussner, will speak at 6 p.m. Friday at the Swope Art Museum—she details Kussner's career painting miniatures of notable figures like a Russian czar and actress Lillian Russell. Tribune-Star

- ➤ Dr. Michael Godard, Indiana State University president, announced Tuesday morning that administrative budget cuts will remove redundant student support roles while keeping core services intact. The restructuring dissolves the Division of Student Affairs — its functions shifting to a new Division of Student Experience and Engagement — and updated charts will come soon. WTHI-TV
- ➤ WTWO honored top valedictorians for 34 years — the students attended a luncheon at North Central High School yesterday at 11 a.m. EDT to celebrate their achievements. Partners including Lincoln Trail College, Pepsi and Piloni’s recognized the students as promising leaders for the future. WTWO
