- ➤ On Monday, the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at Lucia’s Taqueria — located at the corner of 13th and Wabash — to welcome the new restaurant that had served local customers for several weeks. - ➤ On Sunday afternoon, the Terre Haute Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a grinding/sanding booth at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology — students put out the blaze with fire extinguishers and a suppression sprinkler head as units arrived at 2:47 p.m. Tribune-Star

- ➤ A Clay County man was charged with multiple felony counts after a police-involved shooting on April 15 led to a 90-minute standoff when he fled a gas station in a stolen truck and rammed police vehicles—resulting in an injured trooper and the suspect being shot and taken to a hospital. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Terre Haute police have sealed off Candlewood Suites downtown after reports of a shooting and are searching the hotel for evidence — officials ask motorists and residents to stay away from the area. WTWO

- ➤ County Commissioner Chris Switzer will host 'Strides with Switzer' every Monday at 6pm at Dewey Point in West Terre Haute during May to raise mental health awareness, and community members can join to discuss their challenges plus connect with local officials. WTHI-TV

- ➤ The Vigo County Health Department inspected food retailers from April 28 to May 4, 2025 and found that locations like Sprinkles Cookie and Travelodge met standards while Casey’s General Store #3767, Taco Bell #3001014, and Five Guys Terre Haute showed violations.
