- ➤ Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun announced an expansion + renovation of the Booker T. Washington Community Center and Washington Park at South 13th and College Ave; the planned changes will improve the facilities in the coming months. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Nonprofit groups in the Wabash Valley are invited to fill out the United Way Spring survey today to help shape future community programs & local support services. Tribune-Star
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Tribune-Star reporter Mark Bennett honors local writer Stephanie Salter (a 2019 Hall inductee) for her fearless columns that comforted people feeling overlooked and left a lasting mark on community journalism. Tribune-Star
- ➤ The CANDLES Holocaust Museum is unveiling the new 'Inside the Lab' exhibit that recreates a Nazi medical lab and highlights medical atrocities during the Holocaust. The exhibit opens today at 10 a.m. — museum admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and veterans, and $5 for students. WTHI-TV
- ➤ The Great Monster Exchange art exhibit, featuring work by students from Sugar Creek Consolidated and Benjamin Franklin Elementary, will open May 1 at Arts Illiana (supported by a grant from the Vigo County Education Foundation). Tribune-Star

- ➤ The Vigo County School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in West Terre Haute (501 W. Olive St. board room) to consider a proposal for student chromebooks, a curriculum update from deputy superintendent John Newport, and board policies set for third reading. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Students in grades K-8 will explore science, technology, engineering and math at Rose-Hulman's second annual STEM Jubilee on Saturday at Bonfire Field. The event runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offers over 35 hands-on booths (including STEM kit opportunities) for further learning. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Indiana State University Scott College of Business students submitted 62 video entries in the biannual Airworx Elevator Pitch Competition, where they sharpened professional sales and networking skills. Tribune-Star

- ➤ The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is giving foster families a free state park annual pass. Eligible families must fill out a short online form (Foster Families Pass) and email it to [email protected] for access. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Indiana State Parks announced that foster families can receive free annual passes to access all state park properties starting today (the program supports local families and expands outdoor opportunities). Tribune-Star
