ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On April 15 at 7:15 p.m., a Trans-Care ambulance responding to a car crash on 13th Street in Terre Haute was struck on its driver side by an electric bicycle carrying two children, killing one child and airlifting the other to an Indianapolis hospital + the Terre Haute Fire Department is investigating the incident. - ➤ On Monday afternoon, the Terre Haute Police and the Vigo County Coroner's Office released verified details about an accident in which an ambulance collided with an electric bike—leaving one teenage girl dead and another seriously injured while the investigation continues. Tribune-Star
- ➤ At 4:30 a.m., the Terre Haute Fire Department responded to a blaze at Paul's Auto Yard where over 20 vehicles burned because equipment blocked fire trucks - engines had to shuttle water from a hydrant several blocks away - and the cause remains under investigation. WTHI-TV

- ➤ The Community Theatre of Terre Haute announced its 2025-26 season that is heavy on comedy. The season will open with John Patrick’s show 'A Bad Year for Tomatoes' running Oct. 3—5 and Oct. 10—12 for local audiences to enjoy. Tribune-Star

- ➤ The governor signed a new Indiana law that tightens rules on where sex offenders can live. The law requires judge approval for a move and makes judges look at factors such as close family ties—like a spouse, parent, or adult child—as well as stable housing and job opportunities. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Vigo County food inspections ran from April 14 to 17, 2025 and included several establishments in Terre Haute. Wendy’s at 229 S. 3rd St. was inspected and showed (0 critical, 2 non-critical) violations. Tribune-Star
- ➤ The General Assembly approved House Enrolled Act 1253—designed to ease childcare licensing restrictions for expanding family access—and sent the bill to the governor for review. State Rep. Bob Heaton from Terre Haute co-authored the measure to broaden childcare options. Tribune-Star
