- ➤ The ProPEL U.S. 41 study team will host one-on-one community office hours at the Vigo County Outdoor Expo at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.—giving locals a chance to ask questions and get study updates. Tribune-Star
- ➤ TREES Inc. is launching its spring sapling giveaway today in Terre Haute by distributing over 1,300 free trees at a series of local events, inviting residents to add new greenery. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Visitors can experience pioneer life and historic reenactments as participants (portraying living history) share stories in a recreated 18th-century camp. The Bridgeton Rendezvous will run on April 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tribune-Star

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Indiana State University raised a record $2,358,584 on Wednesday during its eighth Give to Blue Day event by attracting 2,481 donors from all 50 states and five countries. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Rose-Hulman will host the free STEM Jubilee on April 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on its bonfire field, where students in grades K-8 can explore over 35 interactive booths presented by the Noblitt Scholars Program. Tribune-Star
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Indiana DNR proposed a rule to boost bobcat trapping from 250 to 400 and allow licensed hunters to use new weapons to control a growing population. Public comments are accepted until May 19 as the hunt season starts Nov. 8. WTHI-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Greene County General Hospital filed a breach notice with Anthem on Apr. 14 after months of unresolved underpayments affecting patient co-pays, and has now started a 30-day period for the insurer to resolve the issue + hospital CEO Brenda Reetz said Anthem admitted the error 43 days ago. - ➤ Vigo County Board of Health warned Wednesday that heavy rains will drive a tough tick season as mushroom hunters reported ticks in wooded areas. Health officials advise residents to use repellent+ check pets and skin for ticks. Tribune-Star
