- ➤ Indiana State University raised $1,506,090 from 1,937 donors during its 24-hour Give to Blue Day on Wednesday, marking its most successful fundraising event to date. Meanwhile, flood warnings for the Wabash River will remain in effect until late Monday evening as lowland flooding near Terre Haute renders some river roads impassable. Tribune-Star
- ➤ First Financial Bank and Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity formed a five-year partnership to support affordable housing by committing $100,000 for building homes for income-challenged working families in Terre Haute. A community event (with remarks from both organizations and activities for neighborhood kids) is set for April 17 from 4 to 5 p.m. at 1624 3rd Avenue. WTHI-TV

- ➤ A Terre Haute man is facing four felony charges and three misdemeanor counts after he allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend with a knife and a gun on April 7 by stabbing a door, firing shots into walls and chasing her before taking her car — Steve Ray Henderson Jr., 52 —. WTWO

- ➤ Teacher Daniel Card and senior Bryce Norris flew last week to Campeche, Mexico with Thompson Thrift to deliver 13 3-D printed prosthetic legs that help amputees return to work and support their families—each leg takes 54 hours to print. They measured additional residents and plan another trip to provide more prosthetic legs soon. WTWO
- ➤ Rose-Hulman is inviting students in kindergarten through 12 to register for a free STEM competition scheduled for Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on its campus; the event will include the Noblitt STEM Jubilee and SPARK! ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Flooding in Shoals has overwhelmed the town as water levels exceeded flood stage, reaching 31.9 ft and are projected to rise to 32.4 ft early today—roads are underwater and many residents have been displaced. Town marshal Matthew Copeland urged residents to stay clear of the fast-moving, dirty water while crews worked to clear debris and protect infrastructure. WTHI-TV

- ➤ Vigo County property tax bills are now in the mail - payments are due by Monday, May 12 with options to pay online at lowtaxinfo.com, by calling 812-645-4779, at participating banks, using the drop box at the county annex entrance, or by mailing the payment to the Treasurer’s Office. WTHI-TV
