- ➤ Tuesday morning, local advocates and community leaders marked the start of Sexual Assault Awareness Month when Mayor Brandon Sakbun read a proclamation and dropped an awareness banner at the Vigo County Courthouse rotunda. Advocates said CODA will provide extra education and prevention programs and support for survivors during the month. WTHI-TV
- ➤ On Tuesday, Mayor Sakbun and the Council on Domestic Abuse held a banner drop at the Vigo County Courthouse to mark the start of Sexual Assault Awareness Month—an initiative aimed at supporting survivors through outreach events. Alicia Marks from CODA said weekly visits to Indiana State and other programs will be offered during April to help provide education and resources. WTWO

- ➤ Art Spaces, Inc. announced Tuesday that its executive director, Ally Midgley, will step down later this year after overseeing key public art projects in Terre Haute. The organization will soon begin its search for a new leader to continue its work enhancing public art in the area. WTHI-TV

- ➤ Indiana State University President Mike Godard donned a white apron Tuesday morning—trading his suit for a chef's role at George's Cafe in Hulman Memorial Student Union where he grilled eggs, prepared tater tots, and made breakfast wraps under owner George Issa's guidance for hungry students and staff. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A House committee passed a bill Tuesday by a 10—1 vote that will let the hospital merger effort in Vigo County continue. Sen. Ed Charbonneau from Valparaiso authored the measure and had introduced the Certificate of Public Advantage process in 2021. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Indiana lawmakers want to pass three bills to help energy companies build small reactors to meet rising power needs while letting companies add the costs to your bill—supporters say this will modernize the power grid. Consumer advocates including the Citizens Action Coalition warned the plan may force ratepayers to pay for these projects instead of the companies. WTHI-TV
