- ➤ The USDA announced that Indiana will lose $27.5 million in funds that help schools and food banks buy food from local farmers, so local pantries may soon have to cover costs that add up to about $50,000–$75,000 a year. In Clay County, the emergency food pantry is backstocking supplies—preparing for a potential weekly expense of roughly $2,222 as the cuts hit in three to six months. WTHI-TV

- ➤ Thrive of West Central Indiana received a $400,000 EPA Brownfields Assessment Grant to study contaminated sites in Vermillion County. The group held a public meeting Thursday night — where residents suggested parks, memorials and new businesses and plans to share ideas with elected officials before seeking cleanup funding. WTWO

- ➤ Mayor Brandon Sakbun announced three design concepts for the Deming Park Aquatic Center makeover with costs ranging from $3.5 million to $4.3 million. City officials are seeking public input and will not use loans to finance the project. WTHI-TV

- ➤ Wabash Valley Dragway is starting its season on March 28th with the Drag & Meet event (7 p.m. to 11 p.m.) that gives drivers a safe place to race and helps fight illegal street racing.
