BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Chicago Bears and Indiana officials announced a potential deal on Thursday for a new stadium in Hammond, calling it a step forward. The plan will move the team toward new facilities and community benefits in the coming months.  Tribune-Star

CULTURE NEWS

  • Indiana State University's School of Music will host its 51st annual Jazz Festival this Saturday at 8 a.m., featuring award-winning pianist Sullivan Fortner and 11 local high and middle school bands performing free (masterclasses included to boost student engagement).  WTHI-TV
  • The Crow Show features over 80 crow-inspired art pieces at the Arts Illiana Gallery (23 North Sixth Street, downtown) and runs Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  WTHI-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Indiana Secretary of Commerce David J. Adams and Prometheus Energetics broke ground in Bloomfield on a production facility for solid rocket motors near NSWC Crane. The project will support 375 jobs by 2032 and is set to start production in 2027 as part of a 1,100-acre munitions campus.  WTHI-TV

  • Vigo County RISE, a mental health initiative, was selected for a prestigious state award today (recognizing its impact on local mental health services).  Tribune-Star
