- ➤ Over the weekend, the Lotus Center sheltered 25 guests and provided emergency warmth to 52 more amid extreme cold and heavy snowfall in Terre Haute. Mental Health America of West Central Indiana CEO Myra Wilkey (observing high demand) said local workers also battled the harsh weather on the streets. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Adam Long, a longtime volunteer with the UCP Telethon for 28 years, passed away on Friday & funeral arrangements are pending. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Families went sledding at Deming Park on Monday as schools held e-learning — temperatures remain low and snow is expected to last, so dress warmly for outdoor fun. WTHI-TV
- ➤ The Terre Haute Human Relations Commission rescheduled the Black History Month banner reception from Tuesday evening to Wednesday at the Vigo County History Center due to snow accumulation affecting parking access. The change gives crews an extra day to clear snow (ensuring a safer event) for all attendees. Tribune-Star

- ➤ Indiana State University signed an MOU with the Chicago Korean Education Center to boost global learning and cultural programming. The agreement will fund an annual Korean Culture Festival open to Terre Haute residents and create academic pathways for study in South Korea. WTHI-TV
