- ➤ Competitive eating champion Joey Chestnut will meet fans at Rural King in South Terre Haute from 1 to 2 p.m. Jan. 19, where attendees can get a first look at his Big & Yellow popcorn collaboration. Tribune-Star
- ➤ Vigo County YMCA is hosting its 10th annual Heart Throb 5K on Feb. 14 + runners begin at 10 a.m. at the YMCA and route through Fairbanks Park, with prizes for top finishers and the fastest couple. Registration costs $25 and closes noon on Feb. 10. WTHI-TV
- ➤ The Sakbun Family’s Annual Bundles of Hope Baby Supplies Drive will begin next week in Vigo County, collecting essential baby supplies (diapers, blankets, wipes) for local families. Drop-offs will occur at City Hall and churches, and a distribution event is scheduled for Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Catholic Charities Terre Haute is celebrating National Mentoring Month by inviting community members to mentor children at Ryves Youth Center through its Time for Me program this January. Tribune-Star

- ➤ MyFootpath partnered with Indiana State University to help re-engage nontraditional students who paused their education. The initiative aims to support returning students with clear pathways to graduation. Tribune-Star
- ➤ State Sen. Spencer Deery introduced Senate Bill 159 to let parents control content filters on school laptops and limit non-educational use, after a committee vote. The bill will continue through the General Assembly as discussions progress. WTHI-TV
