- ➤ Vigo County Public Library invites local residents to share ideas for its future by launching a community survey this week. The survey is the first step in a multi-phase plan to shape library services in the coming years. Tribune-Star
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The city announced a yearlong celebration called 'Stars and Stripes in Terredise' to honor the nation's 250th birthday in 2026. Organized with the Chamber of Commerce and the Visitors Bureau, the event will promote local tourism on the U.S. Department of Transportation's Great American road trip. Tribune-Star
- ➤ River City Art Association will feature photographer Mike Lunsford's nature-based photos at the Community Outreach Gallery in Corporate Square starting Jan. 13 and running through mid-July at 2901 Ohio Blvd. Tribune-Star
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Carey LaBella (chosen by a close four to three vote) became president of the Vigo County School Board on Monday. She will lead upcoming board meetings as the new school year approaches. Tribune-Star
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Union Health has introduced new branding at the former Regional Hospital site, and drivers on the south side now see temporary signage as the official takeover continues with an ongoing merger process. WTHI-TV
- ➤ Union Health announced that physician's assistant Kate Bomar is joining its women’s and children’s service line to focus on obstetrics and gynecology. A Terre Haute North High School graduate with advanced degrees from Rose-Hulman Institute + Indiana State, she will help improve care for local patients. Tribune-Star
